The Fairy Pools near Glenbrittle at the foot of the Black Cuillin Mountains on the Isle of Skye, Scotland are sight to be seen; Glen brittle is located around half way between Sligachan and the old fishing village of Glenbrittle down by the coast. The road down to Glenbrittle is excellent, with some spectacular views as you make your way through the forestry plantation.

The fairy pools themselves are part of Allt Coir a' Mhadaidh (River Brittle), which tumbles down from the Cullins and across the valley floor filling up beautiful crystal clear blue pools as it snakes its way down.

We'd been over at the Old Man of Storr for sunrise prior to driving over to here, not knowing what to expect. We parked up and started the long walk up, following a group of American student tourists who tried their hardest to drop into each and every shot.

Unfortunately on this occasion, we didn't make it all the way to top due to the tourists - next time! This fine art print is one of only two keepers we managed to bring home from the fairy pools.
